From Global to Local: A Plastics Treaty in West Africa
As the world moves toward a binding global treaty on plastic pollution, the AFRIPAC project, led by IUCN and GRID-Arendal, supports Cabo Verde, Guinea Bissau, São Tomé and Príncipe, Senegal, and Sierra Leone in strengthening their negotiation skills and policy frameworks. By building knowledge, fostering collaboration, and aligning national action plans with global commitments, AFRIPAC will help empower these nations to advocate for stronger measures to end plastic pollution, advance the circular economy, and protect marine environments.
